Ben Stafford

Developer

Ben Stafford made his way into the software development world by way of biochemistry. As an undergrad at the University of Dayton, he was required to take a class called “Programming for Scientists and Engineers.” He quickly found himself drawn to how coding skills allowed him to create tools that solved real problems.

That one class helped kicked off a career that’s spanned everything from consultancies to hot startups and Ruby on Rails to PHP. At Gaslight, Ben works closely with clients to learn about their businesses and the problems they’re trying to solve. He finds it rewarding to switch into troubleshooting mode and apply his expertise with data-driven decision making.

Prior to Gaslight, Ben worked as the CTO of ChoreMonster, where he led a development team that created a suite of web and mobile apps that make chores fun for kids. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Computer Science and Systems Analysis from Miami University.

Ben lives in Amberley Village with his wife and son. In his free time, you might find him fly fishing, cycling or home brewing beer.
